I can't believe it. I mean, I really can't.

Today was the audition day for the voice actors'/actresses' roles for the animation in Singapore called "1000 Stars and Squalls (千の星とスコール)". The first part of the audition was script reading. In other words, we were given a script from the animation and read it according to the footage shown. So that means that timing is very important. The second part of the audition was a special talent showcase with a limit of 5 minutes. Here you showcase whatever talent you have.

When I reached the Japanese Association of Singapore (JAS), we met up with the other classmates in the voice acting class. Aidil and I were the only ones who brought our guitars. Before our turns, we were all practising very hard and also doing a lot of crazy things to prevent ourselves from killing ourselves due to extreme boredom. When my turn was drawing near, I got more and more nervous. I guess that's common since it's in everyone's blood to be nervous. We were given the choice to do either the Japanese script or the English script. Extra me, of course, chose to do the Japanese script because I find that I can voice much better in Japanese than in English. My biggest weakness was that if I try to read the script that was written in Hiragana, I would stumble on my words and waste my effort. What I did was to write out the Romaji for every character and read from there. I feel that it's much easier.

So my turn came. As nervous as always, I stepped into the audition room with my guitar and my script for the special talent. Yes, what I did for the special talent section was playing on my guitar, showcasing my ability to switch between mine, Kyon's and Kurogane's voice, singing in a voice other than mine, and dancing. All went well except some rare occasions that I stumbled on a word or chord, but ah no matter.

After everyone has gone for the audition, it was lunchtime. Our lunch is a Japanese buffet provided by the JAS, and needless to say, the food was FANTASTIC. The funny thing is that my plate is the only plate that has over 95% brown colour and very little traces of green. In other words, I ate mostly meat. Haha. Oh well, what to do? I'm still a kid XD

After lunch, we decided to play around some more to kill time, and by the time the clock struck 3, I was really tired. I sat down and was thinking about resting when Enomoto-san came in and told us the results of the audition were out. He also announced the best speaker, best team and the most creative team for the voice acting presentation held last week.

After all the commotion, it's on to the audition room where the roles will be announced. By that time my heart was racing like crazy, and I almost went out of breath. Once inside, we sat down as the judges announced the roles. There were three categories: the supporting characters, the sub characters and last but not least, the main characters. We were told that 13 people were selected to be in the cast for 1000 Stars and Squalls. The ones from my class who got in were Shandy, Melody, Nadiah, Aidil, Froggy and Melisa. I thought I was done for and would go back disappointed as I had lost all hope, but I was wrong. There was still one more person not yet announced, and that person is me.

I was selected to be the voice actor for Kouji, the main male protagonist!!!

Interestingly to note though, some people said I sounded like Wada Kouji when I sang his songs, and now I'm doing Kouji's voice. I'm pretty sure this is just a coincidence. Lol.

I was stunned to hear about it, but of course happy. I've not told my family about this news yet, but I will soon. I hope I can do a good job to make my character come alive. The same goes for everyone else in the cast. And for those who didn't get in, don't be sad, all of you will definitely get the chance. =)

With that being said, I now have to worry about tomorrow...Kouhakuuuuuuuuuu~~~

Really sad. And angry. Let me elaborate why.

3 days ago was my voice acting lesson's presentation. I did an election speech of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a dream". My partner, Nadiah, had to cut a lot of the speech in order to accommodate for the 5 minute time limit. All went well during the speech, but after that, I was told by Keith, my teacher, that the results were quite disappointing, mainly because I sounded more like I was reading from the script than giving a speech that was full of impact and emotion. And to top it up, I wasn't wearing the appropriate outfit. Wait a second, I thought it was voice acting class? Now what, it has become a public speaking class? What the heck is going on???

Alright, presentation aside, yesterday my mum started working as a Chinese Mixed Veggie stall vendor in a primary school along with my cousin and aunt. It's a really good thing because then my mum won't have to stay home and not do anything, but instead do some activities outside of home. It may be tough, but hey, at least it's better than nothing. One drawback of these whole deal is that another "cousin" (I can't even call this WOMAN my cousin because hell, why should I respect her if she doesn't respect us and herself?) is ALSO working at the same primary school as a Drinks stall vendor. When I first found out that she's working there, I thought to myself "shit, something awful's gonna happen". Never did I know I was so god damned right.

When my mum, sis and sis-in-law got back from work today, I found out that they didn't earn much today. Why? Because when the kids bought food from the Chinese Mixed Veggie stall and went over to the Drinks stall to buy drinks, the woman asked "how much is this?" And kids, being the naive and innocent kids they are, told her the price. She went "what? so expensive?" That was the last straw and I blew up (not literally). I mean, geez, why is it her FREAKING business to know whether the food my family sell is expensive or not? Here's the reason why I think she's doing that:

She wants my family to fall.

Now I may be harsh here, but that's exactly how I feel about this whole situation. A few days ago, I also found out from my mum and sis-in-law that that woman's daughter, which so happens to be my so called "niece", dismissed the fact that my family keeps a dog as "poor people trying to be like others by keeping a dog". HELLOOOOOOO!!! Does it matter to you whether we keep a dog or not? Where is your freaking respect??? Since that's the case, I dismissed my comment about her as well. I told my mum and sis-in-law: "If I were so desperate to have sex, I'd rather screw my dog than her because the moment my prick touches her you-know-what, it'll rot and explode immediately!" Once again, I may sound really harsh and offensive here, but hell, with a "cousin" and "niece" like this, who needs enemies? Gawd...

I would really love to go to the school personally and scold the freaking SHIT out of that woman to STFU and mind her own damn business. Someone should really make her freaking wake up and realize she CAN'T, and I repeat, she freaking CAN'T work in the F&B business! Her poor management will only get the better of her and everyone else around her! If she wants to fail, then do so ALONE, and NOT drag my family into it! What a bloody douche bag.

With a situation like this, I really hope that I can pass the audition for this Saturday and earn at least some pocket money so that my family won't have to worry about me. Sighs...
